Trailer for "The Yellow Sign"

Notable weird film producer Aaron Vanek recently posted a trailer for his adaptation of "The Yellow Sign" on Youtube. Though not a new film, the DVD collection it resides on ("The Yellow Sign and Others" from Lurkerfilms.com) deserves wider acclaim. This video, the first volume of a Weird Tales Collection that will be presumably extended at some point, is easily overlooked by many Lovecraft fans in their rush to snatch up Lurker's four H.P. Lovecraft Collection DVDs.

Vanek's "The Yellow Sign" is the most professional and effective piece on the DVD in question, however, and faithfully captures the mood of Robert W. Chambers' original tale. Chambers' work, as most know, was merely one story in the loosely connected cycle of weird tales contained in the full collection, The King in Yellow. With "The Yellow Sign," Vanek expertly translated the bizarre, disturbing horror of Chambers' writings to a new medium, demanding renewed interest in a titan of weird fiction and in further renditions of the King in Yellow. The movie is a must see.
