Ligottian Content Produced from TLO Contest

Wednesday, November 7, 2007

Some interesting items have appeared now that the contest hosted on Thomas Ligotti Online has closed. Four winners were selected by forum mod Dr. Bantham. They will receive autographed copies of the recent Thomas Ligotti graphic novel adaptation, "The Nightmare Factory." The submissions and winners produced some amateur, but excellent content available for viewing in the central links of this thread here. The content related to "The Last Feast of Harlequin" is especially nightmarish.

Ligotti, despite increasing prestige, remains a cultish figure in the horror world. A loyal, knowledgeable base of admirers operate a few sites like the TLO forums, where his work is examined and loved. Unlike Lovecraft and others, Ligotti hasn't yet generated an explosive amount of pastiches and art--written or otherwise--inspired by his works. Perhaps it is better this is the case. Regardless, the trickle of Ligottian content--most of which is housed on TLO--is often stellar when it appears, and very much appreciated.
