New Virgin Books Edition of "Teatro Grottesco" Set for Summer Release
Tuesday, April 15, 2008
As if the Mythos Books re-release of Thomas Ligotti's Teatro Grottesco not even six months ago weren't enough, Britain's Virgin Books plans to publish yet another new edition of it in July, 2008. It is already listed for pre-order on Amazon UK, for a reasonable £6.39. The 192 page reprint of this excellent short story collection is confirmed to include the original three parts of the book, featuring many of Ligotti's most recent weird tales of surreal existential melancholy. It is unknown, but unlikely, that this re-release will contain the celebrated fourth section, "Dead Dreams," which has only previously appeared in book's original release by Durtro.
Look for this European reprint to bolster Ligotti's spotlight this year even further. This new edition of Teatro Grottesco comes on the heels of the author's first story to be adapted to film ("The Frolic"), as well as Fox Atomic's "The Nightmare Factory" graphic novel featuring several of his stories, and tantalizing previews of his upcoming non-fictional work of philosophy and horror, The Conspiracy Against the Human Race.
