HPL Film Festival and Re-Animator News

This will probably be the last post for awhile just throwing out random tidbits Lovecraftian, but here are a few more anyway:
- The Scarlet Letters HPL Film Festival Review: A nice listing of some of the films shown at the Festival throughout the weekend. Blogger Sven chooses favorites, making me all the more anxious for these to hit DVD.
- Reanimator IV Likely a No Go: It appears a fourth installment of the "Reanimator" films will not be coming anytime soon. The movie, which would have involved mad scientist Herbert West reviving a dead Cheney-like Vice President, has been unable to find backing. Moreover, there seems to be a mild fallout between director Stuart Gordon and Jeffrey Combs, who has traditionally filled the lead role as Herbert West. Combs disagrees with infusing too much political commentary into "Reanimator," particularly since the current administration is nearing the end of its tenure. The actor had this to say:"Melding political humor and reanimation hasn't happened before, so why now all of a sudden is it Michael Moore Meets Re-Animator?"
