Another Ligottian Diversion

Sunday, March 2, 2008

The minds at Thomas Ligotti Online forums have again produced another satisfying game. Close on the heels of the Ligotti-themed crossword puzzles I covered recently is a formidable jigsaw puzzle. This 198 piece challenge took me about two hours to finish. Though I hadn't done a puzzle of this sort in real life or on the internet for years, it seems safe to say the difficulty level is definitely moderate. When completed, the puzzle yields a modified version of a classic cover from "Crypt of Cthulhu #68," a special Ligotti issue of the 1980s weird magazine.

As with the tricky crossword puzzles, is just the first in a series of Ligottian jigsaw puzzles. An expanding collection of jigsaw puzzles for download are now available on this special page created for them. TLO includes so much more than just forums these days, and represents an ever-improving comprehensive database and multimedia nexus for all things Ligotti. The TLO user base and administrators are very intelligent, and naturally, their highbrow interest is reflected in these early Ligottian diversions from the horror of life.
