"The Lurking Fear" Podcast Now at Classic Tales!

H.P. Lovecraft's tale "The Lurking Fear" is now available in podcast form over at Classic Tales, for stream or direct download here. The recorded performance contains a succinct, but effective introduction to the author himself as well. B.J. Harrison performs all the voice work, and does it quite pleasantly. It's not a stretch to say his unassuming and scholarly tone is like a more baritone version of what this story might've sounded like coming from Lovecraft's own lips (that is, without the New England accent). This piece is best enjoyed in dim lighting and silence, perhaps with a favorite drink within reach.

For the record, Classic Tales contains a number of other interesting episodes as well. Several famous stories by Edgar Allan Poe are available for listening, including "The Cask of Amontillado" and "The Pit and the Pendulum"--among Poe's best. Washington Irving's "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" can be found in their podcast library list as well.
